Field Trips

Field Trips are sponsored by AGMS and AGMS members are also frequently invited to join other club’s ventures. As a member of the South Central Federation, all members have outgoing liability coverage during field trips. This protects the trip target from liability issues as a result of the field trip.   To view a list of the events held in 2016, click here

GUESTS of MEMBERS: Not Allowed.  This trip is open to all members who agree to abide by the AFMS Code of Ethics, the directions of the field trip leader and practice  safe rockhounding.  CALL the field trip leader beforehand to sign up and for further information.  Remember: Sign IN and OUT with the field trip leader.

OTHER REMARKS: The Rio Grande River has been accumulating and moving rocks along it’s drainage basin for eons. Material originating from Canada to Texas can be found here. It is a rock hounds paradise!
